Modern Suspects

Straight from the mile high is this local band, a three piece under the name Modern Suspects.
Saw this band live when I saw Defy You Stars last month at the Marquis Theater and even got to meet them and chat with them for a few minutes. They put on a crazy good set and were super sweet to the old fans and the new ones. They were even in the running for KTCL Channel 9.33 Hometown for the Holidays and they played Not So Silent Night last December.

You can also like them on Facebook and YouTube and Twitter! Check out their music on NoiseTrade and SoundCloud

They have an upcoming show May 1st at the Black Sheep in Colorado Springs if you can make it to that show grab your tickets!

Defy You Stars

A killer hometown band I stumbled across in my many Instagram sprees and even saw live at Warped 2014. The three piece set straight out of Denver, CO, Defy You Stars is alternative meets pop punk with some indie thrown in. Their catchy lyrics accompanied by killer beats that you can sing along with, get up and groove, headbang and even tear up a little, make for music you can't turn off.

This trio recently released their first album! Which can be found on  iTunesAmazonTwist & ShoutRhapsody and physical copies of the CD and other merch here

They also have Facebook give them a like.

Check this song out and if you love it please check the album out and give it a download or purchase!

I'm super lucky to have met two out of the three band members and they were such sweethearts. Very fan involved and music driven. They get out there and promote themselves, they were delivering tickets to eager fans this past month for their show on March 21st at the Marquis Theater.
There is still time to grab tickets so head to this site here
They also personally signed and wrote letters to fans who had pre-ordered their album. This band is going to go far and I'm excited to have caught them early enough in this journey! I'll be at the show on the 21st will you?

The Riot Van

Another not-so-local to me (but could be to you) band called The Riot Van a four piece coming straight out of Staten Island, NY! For fans of bands with unique sounds stemming from punk, indie, and hard rock you'll love their sound. They love to play live and meet new people. Their bands goal is to evolve, play new music that hasn't been heard and leave a unique mark on society.

The band hasn't released a full EP yet so you are catching them early. Give their music a listen though and get on this ship before it sails. Their music can be found on SoundCloud and you can also see more up-to-date info on the band by following them on TwitterFacebook and Instagram.

I love their sound, these guys put passion in what they do and to me nothing is more important. They kinda have a Blink 182 feel almost or a Smashing Pumpkins vibe. I enjoy it and I bet you will too! Click the links above, go leave them some love and check back soon for more kick-ass bands!

Infamous

A not-so-local to me but could be to you band called Infamous is a 5 piece metalcore band straight out of Indianapolis. They are currently working on an EP to release in the fall of 2015. But their EP Inspire Yourself is available on iTunes, CDBaby, YouTube, and their website here. From that EP they did release a song featuring Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills (another awesome band to check out.) This song can be found here.

Check them out on Facebook & Twitter. Also you can follow them on Instagram~ @infamoustheband.

They have an upcoming show on March 6th at the Hoosier Dome you can get tickets and details on the show here.

My personal opinion on the band~ I personally think if you like metalcore you'll enjoy these guys. They all have a unique aspect they bring to the band and I think it is nothing short of rad. I love the vocals and the lyrics and ahh its all just lovely but don't take my word for it please check them out. Because contrary to their name I'm sure one day they don't want to be just infamous but famous for being infamous. Maybe in the future I'll have an opinion on seeing them live but until then YouTube will be my best friend.

Keep jammin guys and remember if you or your band want a post specifically for you please private message me on my Twitter!

La Dispute on La Dispute

Alright guys it's been a while but I am back! An I am back with a band review again! I discovered this band after I saw many photos quoting pieces of songs on Tumblr. The band is La Dispute (hence the title) and they are a band out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Normally known for their post-hardcore feel and gripping lyrics. Think like a poetry reading set to music. The lyrics are deep and can provoke a lot of feelings. One of my favorite songs is called "King Park" and it is about an accidental shooting due to gang violence. The song is a whirlwind and leaves you wanting to hit repeat or lay down and cry. I know none of this doesn't sound to positive but you have to give them a chance. I am hoping to see them in concert sometime soon when they come around, for now blasting it in my room will have to do.
Alright guys, Safe Sailing- MaydayRae
